My Story | About Me
My name is Mark Vieyra, and I am a 24-year-old draftsman based in Santa Maria, CA. I started drafting plans at 22 years old under the guidance of a Draftsman and, eventually, an Engineer. Three years later, with the encouragement of my older brother, I grew confident in tackling drafting plans on my own to provide for my mother’s medications.
Within the last three years, I became familiar with the drafting and construction process, being kept up-to-date with California and local jursidiction codes,
Process
Initial Meeting & Site Visit
The initial meeting and site visit serve to discuss the project scope of work, timeline, and budget. Measurements to the existing site and property depend on the scope of work parameters.
Conceptual Design
A conceptual 3D model and floor plan are created and presented to illustrate a near-final plan drawing. If requested, a render of the 3D concept can be procured to convey the project vision.
Design & Plan Development
Once the conceptual design is approved, it is further developed in accordance with the 2025 California codes and jurisdictional ordinances and codes, and in consultation with specialists to ensure a fully code-compliant design. An engineer may be required, depending on the scope of work.
Permit Submittal & Approval
Prior to the commencement of construction, the design plans must be submitted and approved by the local jurisdiction to obtain the necessary permits to build. Their review timeline and turnaround vary per city and county. Once approved, construction can commence with contractor of choice.
